Vintage Singer Sewing Machine
Item Details
A vintage Singer sewing machine. This model comes in a latched ‘Modern Portable Electric Ludy Co.’ carrying case that comes apart to form a platform for the sewing machine. The Singer machine features vivid red and gold tone decorations on a black metal surface with silver tone metal parts. The model number ‘G4029049’ is marked on a plaque, the most recent patent is from June 1910, and the motor is marked ‘Chas. S. Ludy Co – Indianapolis – Ind.’ The gold tone medallion with the Singer trademark is affixed to the machine’s body. The electric attachment with a cord and a two-prong plug is marked ‘The Electrical Mfg. Co. – Racine, Wis.’ A wood box marked on the lid ‘Patented 1889 – February 19’ is filled with metal accessories.

- tested and fully functional; has wiring for light socket; rubber driving band has a tear.
