Late 18th to Early 19th Century Slant-Front Desk
Item Details
A late 18th to early 19th century slant-front desk. The mahogany- and walnut-veneered case features a rectangular top above a slant front opening to a fitted desk interior with drawers, dividers, and a central prospect door. The writing surface extends over four graduated drawers. The crossbanded fronts are fitted with brass handles and escutcheons with engraved plates. The desk rises on a molded base with bracket feet.

Condition
- scattered scratches, scuffs, and chips; there is a loose piece that fits in the back of the desk; some loose/separated glue blocks accompany the desk; some stains to the interior; one back foot with a repair.
