1847 Rogers Bros Silver Plated "Ambassador" Flatware Set
Item Details
A set of silver plate flatware from 1847 Rogers Bros (International Silver Co.) in the Ambassador design. This sixty-nine piece set includes eight dinner knives, eight butter knives, one cheese knife, eight salad forks, eight dinner forks, seven iced tea spoons, one soup spoon, three 8’ spoons, eight 7’ spoons, and sixteen teaspoons. The pieces have a fleur-de-lis and floral design where the tapered stem meets the handle, a monogrammed ‘S’ on the handle, and a fleur-de-lis on the tip. They are marked to the backs of their stems ‘1847 Rogers Bros IS’. Also included is a pie server in a complementary style design. The set comes in a wooden case with a felt liner and a small decal marked ‘Prevent Tarnish Container’.
Condition
- many marks and scratches throughout; the box has no handle; lots of dents, dings and marks throughout the box as well.
