An Indian Dilkusha hand-knotted carved wool area rug. This plush Aubusson style rug features an ivory floral center medallion on a plum colored ground with wide corner spandrels and a floral ivory guard border. The rug is finished with overcast selvage edges and hand knotted cream fringe to opposite ends. It has been carved along the design lines for a dimensional effect. Marked with a label to verso reading ‘Dilkusha, All Pure New Wool Pile, Hand Woven in India.’
