Set of Twelve Bloor Derby English Armorial Plates
Item Details
A set of twelve Bloor Derby English armorial plates. In the center of each plate is a hand painted armorial illustrating a crest, ensigned by a baronial coronet Proper, a lion couchant Argent, on a chapeau Rouge turned up Ermine, the crest of the Baron of Suffield of Gunton Hall, Suffolk, England. In a banner below the crest is the family motto Aequanimiter which translates to With Equanimity . The center crest is surrounded by a green border with gilt accents. The plates are marked with the Bloor Derby mark used between 1825-1848.
Condition
The plates are lightly crazed, two have hairline cracks and there is one small chip to an edge.
