A very unique embroidered Mexican Huichol yarn painting titled El Arco Iris or The Rainbow by Mexican artist Jose Benitez Sanchez (1938-2009), along with his wife, Hilaria Chavez Carrillo. Sanchez is best known for his culturally rich embroidered yarn paintings that feature extremely colorful palettes with very intricate details throughout. This piece features a large hand written paragraph in Spanish to the back side, which includes the title along the top and the artist’s names to the bottom, among many other things. This very large piece is mounted on a wooden board with a wire for hanging to the verso.
