Power-Loomed "Persian Kerman" German Teppich
Item Details
A power loomed Oriental teppich from Germany. This Persian Kerman-inspired area rug is rendered in a palette of pink, deep midnight blue, cerulean, and ivory. It features a very large, round central medallion over a partly open pink field bordered with Kerman-style sprays of flowers and a curvilinear corona of densely patterned flowers over midnight blue. Framing the field are eight borders including a primary border featuring a herati pattern over ivory and smaller guard borders containing meandering florals. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with short kilim skirts and long ivory cotton warp fringe. The rug is labeled on the reverse.
