A hand-knotted Chinese floral wool area rug. This finely woven wool rug is rendered in a palette of ivory, cerulean, dusty rose, crimson, and sage. It features an allover curvilinear vase design with bouquets of flowers and foliage alternating with arrangements of grapes and leaves amid boteh and flowers, over an ivory field. The bouquets repeat in the same scale in the major border, also over ivory, with variations in filler. Framing the field are nine borders, including the major border and minor borders featuring floral and abstract patterns. The rug finishes at top and bottom with short kilim skirts and knotted fine wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
