Swedish Julbock Straw Christmas Goats
Item Details
A pair of Swedish julbock straw Christmas goats. These bound straw sculptures each depict an abstract standing goat form with braided straw horns. They are accented with wrapped red ribbon and bows, with white snow flake patterning. No discernible maker’s mark was found. Traditionally these sculptures would be placed to stand guard over the Christmas tree, watching over the presents.
Condition
- some minor surface wear with fraying to the straw ends.
