Rare Art Deco Nude Sculptural Promotional Thermometer

A rare Art Deco promotional sculptural thermometer, styled as a nude woman holding up a thermometer. This is believed to be an advertising promotional item given by the Pennsylvania Surety Corporation, Pittsburgh, US.A., date unknown. This dancing nymph has a bronze tone finish and is made of metal. She holds her head high as she lifts a round thermometer with white dial and Arabic numbers up for all to see. While she is caught mid-stride with one knee up, her other foot is barely perched upon a round, slightly domed floral base. The item is unsigned.
Condition
- minor marks and minor corrosion around the rim of the thermometer;
dusty. Not tested for accuracy.
