Two Artisan Carved Wooden Figures
Item Details
A set of two artisan-carved wooden figurines by Merab and Elliott. Featured is a Kenyan-inspired wooden carving of a pregnant female figure. The figurine is painted with a black finish and depicted kneeling, wearing a coiled copper tone necklace. The item includes an incised signature of ‘Merab’ to the figure’s feet. Also included is a carved standing figure, shown with knees bent. The carving is treated with a black painted finish and rests on a square wooden base marked with an incised signature of ‘Elliott’.
Condition
- fading, scratching, chipping and surface wear throughout; painted finish is chipping to both pieces.
