Hand-Knotted Indo-Peshawar Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Indo-Peshawar area rug. This rectilinear wool rug is rendered in a tea-washed palette of pale salmon, sage, and camel, its field as well as borders grounded in salmon. Populating the field are large palmettes, a variety of leaves, and star-florets, all strung together with a meandering network of vines. The field is framed by three borders, including a main border featuring a herati pattern. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with undyed brown wool warp fringe. Unlabeled.
