Vintage Japanese Ceramic German Inspired Beer Steins

Item Details

A set of vintage Japanese ceramic beer steins. This collection includes four matching cream glazed steins, which feature German inspired designs depicting bar scenes with a blue background and red and green foliage. There are rope style bands around the body at the top and bottom of the scenes. The handle has a foliage motif. The underside of each is stamped ‘MG, Made in Occupied Japan’. This mark dates the mugs between 1945 to 1952.

Condition

- some crazing throughout; light stains to undersides; nicks to undersides.
