An East Asian style watercolor and gouache painting on silk of women. This painting depicts two women dressed in ornate kimonos, as one kneels over a wooden pier to look at the calm body of water surrounded by a protruding tree and rock cluster. To the lower left corner of the composition is a vertical arrangement of Asian characters and a red emblem. The painting is presented under glass mounted to a brown silk brocade in a moulded bamboo motif wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- minor wear is present to the frame; discoloration is present to the right side of the composition; white residue found under the glass along the right and bottom right edges.
