Decorative Balinese Painted Wood Mask

A decorative Balinese painted wood mask. This mask features a carved wood creature painted green with wide eyes, baring its teeth and sticking out its tongue, surrounded by three peacocks forming a headdress with their tail feathers. The two peacocks flanking the central figure are removable, and the wood is marked ‘101’ to the verso. There are no visible maker’s marks, and a hanging wire is affixed to the verso.
