An oil on canvas advertising a Carter the Great performance. This oil painting depicts an advertisement for a performance in London by late 19th to early 20th Century American stage magician, Charles Joseph Carter, also known as Carter the Great. Carter began his career at age ten and toured internationally until 1917. The piece is presented on wood-framed canvas. The back of the wood frame has some writing in ink that reads ‘1436 JB’.
