A foiled serigraph poster printed on paper, featuring Symphony in Black by Russian artist and designer Romain ‘Erté’ De Tirtoff (1892-1990). This poster, with a foiled silver background, depicts a woman in a headdress, fur wrap, and trailing black gown, a black greyhound-like dog standing statuesquely to her side. Beneath the image is a block of text headed ‘Erté’ and reading ‘Published by Miage Editions Santa Monica, California in Association With Grosvenor Gallery, London, Eng. © 1980 Mirage Editions.’ The piece is signed in plate to the right of the figure, and is presented under glass in a black frame with a wire for hanging.

Condition

- scratches and wear to frame; water damage to backing; glass would benefit from being cleaned.
