Tufted Safavieh "Heritage" Wool Area Rug

A tufted Safavieh area rug in the Heritage pattern. This Indian-made wool rug is rendered in a palette of burgundy, cream, and deep navy blue. It features a semi-curvilinear design beginning with a large eight-point star medallion containing abstracted palmettes over navy and mauve. The medallion rests on a crimson field, which is cornered by large, fused spandrels with phases in gold and green. The field and spandrels are populated with scattered palmettes, oak leaves, and flowers. Framing the field are compound borders, including a primary turtle border over navy. The rug has overcast edges on all sides and a full fabric backing. It is labeled on the reverse.
