A World War II U.S. Civil Defense air raid warden helmet. This dome-shaped white helmet with a brim bears the red, white and blue insignia of an air raid warden in the United States Citizen Defense Corps. A handwritten label on the underside of the brim reads ‘civilian gas air raid helmet (Dad’s as area warden –World War II’.
