A plaster reproduction wall hanging of a scholar or author, presented after the style of Greek caryatid architecture supports. The sculpture depicts a bearded man in a ruffled collar, a scroll resting in one hand, with the scrolls of an ionic column behind his head and from his waist down. The piece is embellished with large relief floral shapes to the lower front of the piece. This piece has no visible maker’s marks.
