Jean Lodge 1973 Signed Limited Edition Artist's Proof Aquatint Etching "Inlet"

Item Details

A 1973 signed limited edition artist’s proof aquatint etching by well-listed American-Parisian artist Jean Lodge (Dayton, Ohio; born 1941), titled Inlet. The image, printed in a gradient of indigo ink, depicts a curving, circular arrangement of aqueous stripes and pools, applied with a precisionist’s aesthetic, though organically formed. This print is dedicated to ‘Buzz,’ as inscribed by the artist to the top margin, numbered 10 of an edition of 10 artist’s proofs, titled and signed by the artist to the lower margin in pencil; mounted under coordinating matting, behind acrylic glass in a matte black composite frame.
Lodge’s work is represented in the collections of the numerous reputed institutions, including Bibliotheque Nationale de France; Ashmolean Museum, Oxford; Museo Nacional del Grabado, Buenos Aires; Royal Library of Belgium, Brussels; Museum of Fine Arts, Brest; Museum of Fine Arts, Caen; Museo di Pescia, Italy; Boston Public Library, Massachusetts; National Gallery of Art, United States; St. John’s College, Pembrook College, Oxford; Museo della xilografía, Venice; and National Library of Luxembourg, among many more.
