Charles Burdick Oil Painting on Academy Board of Horses

A oil painting on academy board of horses by Charles Burdick (b. 1924). Signed by hand to the lower left corner, the black and red palette painting depicts men on horseback carrying swords and spears. The painting is mounted in a gold tone and black wood frame. A wire for hanging purposes and a framer’s decal are present to verso. Burdick studied at Rhode Island School of Design and is best known for his paintings of animals in motion.
Condition
- academy board is slightly bowed; craquelure to top left; stains and wear to gold tone liner; fabric covering to frame is frayed at corners; dirt present.
