A hand-knotted Afghan Bokhara area rug. This wool rug offers a Tekke gul and crucifix pattern throughout the field in a palette of red, orange, cream, and black tones. The primary border has star medallions and geometric hooked patterns with crenelated guard borders on each side. The rug has a brown strip sewn to the edges to prevent curling. It is finished with overcast edges and a natural kilim skirt and wool warp fringe to either end. Unmarked.
