A carved wooden flax breaker. This wooden tool features a solid, cylindrical handle and a grooved shaft with carved and burned scroll and twist patterning to the top edge. The top edge is strung with twine for hanging. This tool is traditionally used in conjunction with a standing stretcher table that loosens dried flax fibers.
