Venetian-Style Ewer

Item Details

A Venetian-style ewer. This ornate ewer has a lip shaped like a red leaf, an applied scrolling handle painted green, and high shoulders with a body that tapers inwards and then outwards to form the round base. It is covered in painted designs of winged creatures which are part man and part beast, surrounding central scenes of men bowing before a man in Roman attire sitting in a chair. There are four small felt pads applied to the edge of the underside.
