A color lithograph on paper titled Le Poisson Bleu by Marc Chagall (1887-1985), created in 1957 for Jacques Lassaigne’s Chagall published by Mourlot Freres, Paris. This print features surrealist imagery of a blue fish, a red bull, and a woman with green hair floating above a village. This print is unsigned. It is matted and presented in a carved wood frame under glass.
Chagall was born in Russia and moved to Paris when he was a young artist. He then became a part of the famous École de Paris along with many other famous Jewish artist at the time, including Chaim Soutine and Modigliani. Chagall’s body of work spans several decades, but he is most well-known for his expressive, symbolic imagery as a way of exploring his religion.

- to fair; image has slightly shifted under matting; toning to mat; the paper has been folded down the center; wear to the frame; paper to the verso is worn; fitted with a wire hanging to the verso.
