A limited edition mezzotint titled Cherries With Stem by artist Tomoe Yokoi (Japanese 1942 – ). This still life depicting cherries and leaves appears to almost glow against the dark mezzotint background. It is numbered #80/95 in pencil lower left on mat and signed T. Yokoi lower right on mat. The art is presented under glass with white mat, in a silver tone composite frame with red accents, and includes an art light.
Tomoe Yokoi studied traditional art at the College of Art in Japan, and intaglio printmaking in Paris under S.W. Hayter, further developing her skill and printmaking techniques. Her art is considered to be a blend of European subject matter and Oriental asymmetry. Please see link for additional information.
