Hand-Knotted Indo-Persian "Herati" Area Rug

A hand-knotted Indo-Persian herati area rug. This wool rug features an allover classic herati pattern over a navy blue field. The universal palette is navy blue, ivory, cerulean, and shades of terracotta to ochre. Framing the field are six borders, including a primary border featuring a turtle pattern over rust with ivory and navy palmettes in the corners. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing with short kilim skirts and knotted ivory cotton warp fringe. Unlabeled.
