1870 Robert Garrard II Sterling Silver Chambersticks

Item Details

A pair of 1870 sterling silver chambersticks by Robert Garrard II. These feature candle cups that rise on knopped stems above round bobeches, adorned with gadrooned rims. Each has an applied delicate finger handle on one side, with a holder for the detachable conical snuffers. They have been engraved with a coat of arms, and one is marked ‘33’ and the other ‘12’. They are marked underneath ‘Garrards Panton Street London’, with the four hallmarks of London 1870, and the makers mark of ‘RS’ in script underneath a crown. The total approximate weight is 26.690 ozt.
