A mixed media drawing on paper, titled I’m Waiting for My Grant by Ben Smith. This drawing depicts a humanoid insect, which contains the features of a preying mantis and fly, pinned to the wall as its human face stares onward in shock, shedding a single red tear. The composition is rendered with pencil and loose, linear marks of white pastel and splotches of green spray paint. To the lower margins is a handwritten title, artist signature and date (1994). The drawing is presented under glass beneath a single-layered frame in a silver tone wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.

- snags to lower center and buckling to upper left of linen backing; scuffs and scratches to frame; chips to upper left and lower right of frame; paper backing torn.
