A hand-knotted Anatolian accent rug. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of madder red, cream, taupe, and ochre. It features two large octagonal medallions over a red field. Each medallion begins with a cruciform shape nestled inside a larger cruciform shape, which features memling hooks, diamond-shaped incursions, and geometric florets at each right angle. The medallions are bracketed by hooked triangles. Framing the field is a primary border featuring diagonal bands of small diamonds interspersed with eight-pointed stars over a red ground. Selvedges are triple overcast, the rug finishing at either end with unbound, undyed wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
