A pair of power-loomed Akstafa-style area rugs. These matching rugs are rendered in an intentionally abrashed palette of burgundy, cream, and black. Both feature a design inspired by Persian tribal weavers with pole medallions in cream and black over a burgundy field, which is filled with peacocks and other bird motifs along with a range of symbols and forms including boteh, S-shapes, pinwheels, and guls. Framing the field are a major border, which is grounded in black and filled with birds, and several minor borders featuring abstract motifs. Edges are overcast on all sides. The rugs are unlabeled.
