An oil painting on paper of a circa 20th century portrait. The painting depicts a woman seated in three-quarter profile, looking away from the viewer with a dark ground. The work is unsigned. It is presented on a canvas backing which is wrapped over an oval wooden stretcher with hanging hardware to the verso.

Condition

- worn and tattered edges; losses along the edges; inpainting and previous restoration on face; discolored stain on back of canvas; minor bubbling to the image and lifting and tenting painting towards the bottom; fading of pigment; image has been re-stretched and backed with canvas.
