An original oil painting on canvas by well-listed German painter Helmut Reuter (1913 – 1985). This pastoral, Tonalist-influenced landscape depicts a shepherd leading his flock along a rugged dirt road alongside which a small cottage resides, surrounded by miles of rolling green countryside. On the horizon, a faint indication of a city rests against a warm, overcast sky. Artist signature is signed to the lower right. This painting is mounted in a beveled wood frame, with a speckled gilt finish, equipped to hang.

- light accretion on painting and frame. Finish of frame is chipped in several areas along edges and corners.
