An original vintage oil painting on canvas by well-listed American artist Lawrence McCoy (born 1888), titled On the Trail. The painting depicts a Western genre scene. A group of men on horseback make their way across a dry Southwestern landscape, which is starkly flat apart from large cacti protruding dramatically from its surface. The silhouette of shadowy rock formations rise in the distance. The painting is signed in brown to the lower right. It is presented in a wooden frame with cast surface embellishments, rustic white and gray finishes, and white linen lining. The painting is also signed and titled to the verso.
