Antique Stumpwork of Eagle and Prey

A beautiful 18th century antique stumpwork embroidery of an eagle and it’s prey, intricately executed in gold and silver tone thread on brown silk. The hand work embroidery is housed in it’s original frame made of birds eye maple, with gilted trim to the interior. Some appilque detailing has detached from the frame, but the loose pieces remain under the glass protecting the work.

Condition

- notable tears and fading to the color of the silk. Some applique detailing is detached from frame, all loose pieces are under glass.
