Vintage Japanese Musical Jewelry Box
Item Details
A vintage Japanese musical jewelry box. It features a rectangular cube body with two front doors that fold out from the center and two outwardly angled feet on the underside. The body has a black lacquered exterior with hand painted landscapes and mother of pearl-like trim on the face. Opening the doors reveals a row of four drawers on the left and a brightly colored geisha figurine in an open area on the right. Mirrors painted with similar landscape scenery adorn the backside of each door. Twisting a key on the underside activates an internal music box and makes the geisha rotate. Worked upon testing.
