A twelve volume set of The Novels and Stories of Ivan Turgenieff translated from Russian by Isabel F. Hapgood and bound in blue hardcover. This set was published in 1923 by Charles Scribner’s Sons of New York. Ivan Turgenev (1818 – 1883) began his career as a poet and had his breakthrough as a prose writer with the charming nature and character sketches in Memoirs of a Sportsman. Turgenev afterwards wrote several classic novels, including First Love, Rudin, Smoke, On the Eve, and Fathers and Sons.
