A limited edition porcelain plate titled Takara by Edna Hibel (American, 1917 – 2015). This limited edition rectangular plate depicts a small Japanese girl in a kimono surrounded by branches and tall grass and is signed to the lower right. The title of the piece, the name of the artist and a poem reading ‘In her new kimono/Gathering for the vases/ More than thankful for such/ Treasure’ are all present to the verso of the frame. Hibel is best known for her paintings, prints and drawings of mothers and their children.
