Letters from Civil War Soldiers Home

Item Details

Three letters, one to Dear Wife, dated Dec 5th, 1864 is a 5 page letter, and the soldier is talking about the Yanks and previous marches and battles. The nedt is to Dear Eliza, and is from Mount Vernon, July 6, 1862. He is telling her about it being the hottest days ever know north of the Ohio River, and how he was compelled to stop and find a cool spot to sit. He tells her about day to day events, that he spent time with her mother and father and how her would like her to please write him some love letters. The final is a letter written from Summit House Hospital, Sept 18th, 1862 by E.D. Babcock and tells her about how is is feeling, and how he doesn’t think he will be getting a furlough, although he would like one.

Condition

All consistent with age, some foxing, age and water marks. Folds and creases also. Please preview for personal assessment of condition.
