This work features a European village in the midst of a hilly landscape with mountains silhouetted in the background against a cloudy blue sky. The painting is signed and dated to the lower right; the stretched canvas remains unframed.

Condition

- darkening to varnish; craquelure throughout composition; stretcher mark to right and top; buckle to canvas to top right corner; tear to canvas to lower left about 1.5" long; abrasions to edges; 2 tiny areas of paint loss to upper right edge; area of lift to right directly above green hill; small stains scattered across painting; dirt throughout.
