A contemporary mixed media painting on papyrus paper of an Ancient Egyptian Genre piece. The work depicts a cat wearing a collar with the Eye of Horus and a golden winged scarab. Next to the cat is a cartouche with a pair of wadjet figures flanking the base of the shenu. Signed by the artist under the cat, ‘Essay’. Presented on top of yellow matting, under glass, and housed in a black wood frame.
