Indian Peacock Embroidered and Sequined Wall Hanging

Item Details

An intricate embroidered Indian wall hanging by an anonymous artist. This depicts a central peacock framed by arching trees and surrounding by blossoms, within a gold tone meandering foliate border. It is constructed of layered fabric, tacked metallic thread, and applied beads and sequins. It is mounted to burgundy-rose fabric with fabric hanging loops attached on top.

Condition

- large snag to fabric at left center border; fading of red fabric around inner border and at hanging attachments; some fraying of thread.
