A Wilhelm Schiller & Son clay wicker pot set. An inner pot with matte red glazing is held in a clay “wicker basket”. The outer pot features a rolled rope rim with a band of ivy leaves to the outer circumference. The inner pot has a single drainage hole and bears the impressed letters “WS&S” to the base. Wilhelm Schiller began the production of pottery in Bodenbach, Bohemia in the mid 19th century and remained in operation until the onset of World War I. The company is best known for their matte-finish majolica.
