Antique Royal Staffordshire "Iris" Transfer Printed Dishes
Item Details
A collection of transfer printed earthenware by the Royal Staffordshire Pottery. The group decorated in the Iris pattern was produced in 1907. Royal Staffordshire Pottery was operated by the firm of Arthur J. Wilkinson Ltd. of Burslem, Staffordshire. The pieces have underglaze blue transfer printed borders depicting Iris and further embellished with scrolls and reflective mercury gilding. There are printed factory marks with a logo depicting a lion holding a globe within a ribbon reading ‘Royal Pottery Staffordshire Burslem England’.
