A gouache painting on paper of a cityscape, by artist M.C. Sutton. The multicolored work, using shades of dark green, pink, and blue, depicts a view of a city street filled with cars, an elevated roadway to one side. Loosely painted skyscrapers and what appear to be row houses fill the background. The piece is presented in a dark wood frame with an ivory and burgundy double mat and a wire for hanging. There is a pen notation to the verso with the artist’s name and material, as well as the date and place it was originally purchased.
Condition
- foxing and toning to paper surface; light staining to mat in multiple areas; abrasions and wear to frame; paper backing has been cut.
