A color etching on paper by listed Japanese artist Motoi Oi (1910-2004). Depicted is a psychedelic portrait of a clown with wild blue hair and a broken pocket watch in his right hand. Signed to the lower right in graphite and numbered edition 96 of 250. Presented under glass with a white and brown double mat, housed in a decorative wood frame.

Motoi Oi was trained in Japan in Western and Japanese painting and in the late 1950s moved to the United States to teach art at Queen’s College in New York. Moto Oi’s paintings and prints are in the collection of renowned museums including the New York Metropolitan.
