Ink Wash
An ink and watercolor figurative drawing by Benjamin Kopman (1887 – 1965). The abstract image in black and yellow on white depicts a man holding a Torah scroll up to another man and the small body of a child lying in front of the men. It is signed ‘B.K.’ to the lower right and mounted under glass with blue mat decorated with French lines. The wood frame has a gilt finish and is wired for hanging. An inscription in Hebrew is attached to the verso.
Condition
- large scrape to lower right corner of the frame; minor scratches and wear; scratches present to frame; gilt leaf french line lifted to upper right of mat.
