An ink drawing on paper titled Song Sparrows by Roger Tory Peterson (1908-1996). This drawing depicts two birds standing on the ground, one carrying a stick in its beak. Mounted under a single layer of white matting, the drawing is presented under glass in a black wood frame. A wire for hanging purposes and a decal reading ‘Roger Tory Peterson, ’Song Sparrows’. Drawn especially for Margaret Nice’s ‘Life Histories of the Song Sparrow’, pub. by Linnaean Society, 1937. Gift of the author, Margaret Morse Nice.’ are present to the verso of the frame. Peterson is best known for his drawings and paintings of birds.
