Central African Tribal Power Figure Doll

A carved wood and beaded Central African tribal doll. This piece depicts a figure with shells embedded in the arms and legs and beads wrapped around the torso. The head is disproportionally smaller than that of the body and has beads for eyes. The piece appears to be carved from one piece of wood. Central African power figures are believed to house specific mystical forces, they were creations of Kongo sculptors and ritual specialists. This piece is unsigned and unmarked.

- some wear to finish; beads appear dirty throughout.
